Would You Trust A Doctor Dressed Like This?
A new study from the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery came out recently and let’s just say… it wasn’t received well. The study aimed to identify “clearly unprofessional content” shared on social media by young vascular surgeons, such as HIPAA violations and criminal activity. Unfortunately, the study’s 3 male investigators also looked for “potentially unprofessional content” which included doctors posting photos holding alcoholic beverages and “provocative posing in bikinis/swimwear”. I was outraged by the gender bias in this study holding female doctors to a double standard, essentially saying if you’re a doctor or a woman in medicine you don’t get to enjoy legal activities such as having a glass of wine or taking a photo at the beach. I wasn’t alone, as the medical community on twitter came together with the hashtag #medbikini to denounce this study, and just the other day it was actually retracted by the journal. While that’s definitely a win, we need to continue to empower our medical professionals to live normal lives without fear of being authentic on social media, as it’s better for our mental health and truly helps us connect better with our patients.

Sooo glad you shared this!
Dur hur what are you talking about doctors must be unfeeling medicine machines how dare they try to appear normal?!?!?! All jokes and trolling aside, there's also that weird notion that "only ugly people can be true professionals because if a person is pretty all they have to do to be successful in **everything** is simply being pretty. The ugly ones had to WORK for their success". So I think this "study" falls under the same zone where the "researchers" look for the pretty female doctors/residents and say "they are only successful because they have a pretty face. Don't trust people with pretty faces because they probably just gave blowjobs to their professors in exchange for good grades".
everything of "potentially unprofessional", yea shouldn't do that at work but what they do in their free time you have nothing to say about as long as they are still able to do their job properly. Do you go to a school teacher & say she/he isn't allowed to drink or wear swimsuit etc etc in their spare time just cus they work with kids in their "professional" time?
Doc, can you react to Dr Romantic 1 or/and 2?????
"Potentially unprofessional". I lost brain cells reading that list. Doctors don't always have to be wearing those Dracula capes.
*Why are there so many Indian doctors!?*
No idea maybe we are just smart.
Sometimes in the most professional of professionals, is an animal deep inside, biding his/her time, going for the kill.
Well it’s none of my business what my doctor does when I’m not his patient nor should it me. I have nothing against a doctor or a nurse posting pictures of themselves in their swimsuits at the beach or pool, or doing one of those before and after things. If they did stuff that was unprofessional like drink on the job or something then that’s where I have a problem with them as a healthcare professional
Now I'm not so sure if I could trust you Dr. Mike ☹️
The small utensil unintentionally sip because boot systemically suggest including a equable football. three, humorous gosling
The doctor in a bikini isn’t going to take time out of saving someone to change
In fact, I WOULDN'T trust a doctor who swims in scrubs
YASSSS DR MYHER REPPING !
If im dying then ill have to trust them
Would You Trust A Doctor Dressed Like This? but you played yourself
Looks like Dr Myhre is trying to flog Arbonne, a well-known pyramid scheme from her Twitter bio though - not sure that is professional for a doctor to do?
Do I want my doctor to look sexy? Damn fucking right, dudes can be sexy too
Dear Doctor Mike! I live and work as nurse in Ireland. Guess what? In here if someone sees you "high" (because you drank a little bit, but still not too drank) you can be reported as "it's not appropriate behaviour". I was shocked when heard it. Obviously being completely drank I don't think is a good idea in general, specially in our sector, but, why I can't drink as much as I want on my day off?!?! (and the next day don't go to work). I erally like all your videos, thanks a lot for all =)
If the doctor doesn't do something inappropriate in the hospital it ok, doctors can also have some fun
Bruh, did they expect her to run back and put on a full suit with a coat? People really need to consider what they say. Lol btw... that one piece of hair was bugging me lol
This 'study' is asinine. Dr. Bikini was at a beach, surfing. If she intentionally shows up for work at the ED in a bikini and wears nothing but that bikini all day, that would be unprofessional (and unsafe for her). If she just spent 6 hours treating someone on the beach before her shift and thought it best to get to work on time and change clothes at the hospital, that is as professional as it gets. What an utter trash 'study'. Dr Candice Myhre kicks azz.
Wait the doctors who help us actually have a life of their own *NO WAY!!*
Okay so let me get this straight. Doctors are supposed to be mindless robots with no emotion or lives outside of being a doctor?? I mean, you sometimes get judged for taking fucking selfies??? Seriously?!?! Take as many selfies as you like! It shows that you're positive about your body! You CAN drink alcohol (responsibly ofc) outside of work. Everyone's needs a good time to keep stress levels low. Cussing doesn't make you stupid. Fact. Doctors are human too!
My diabetologist has a picture on FB profile of him having a beer, he's the nicest and most intelligent doctor i know, i would never see that as unprofessional or not trustworthy because he drinks beer in his free time.
People need to get a life like the doctors did.
If they came into the room with only a bikini on then I would be like wtf but they can wear it off duty and it’s fine with me
The 985 people who disliked this are WRONG and I'm not even going to bother roasting such stupidity.
A white hair
Controversial social topics include circumcision and breastfeeding. Those are topics directly tied to medical related topics.
I put a White light on my balls and it kind of hurts what should I do
Who wouldn’t want a doctor in a bikini treating you😂
Damn, i guess having a life is unprofessional
Is it just me but if this guy was bald and had glasses he would look just like vesos
The 985 ppl who disliked this, your parents are siblings.
If you see psysicians as gods, it'll be very hard to ask them questions or adress your problem, especially about things you're self a bit shy about.
Dr mike: I Hold my wine glass out the picture. Also Dr mike: has a shot in his hand 😂😂💕
Doctor Mike, you just helped motivate me to become a doctor !! :D (lol idrc about the money tbh im just interested)
Yeah like DOCTORS are not allowed to wear bikinis
If I badly needed a doctor I wouldn't care whatever the doctor is wearing as long as they're not intoxicated, I'd just be grateful a qualified doctor was right there and treated me
I totally agree, I think doctors should wear their white coats while swimming 🏊♀️
the study is disgusting
Doctor Mike, I am utterly offended that there are photos of you drinking wine. I think to be more human you should review medical dramas while drinking wine. The more wine the better the review.
It's all OK until everyone gets naked and shows off their butts
I would trust my doctors more if they used a face mask.
If a doctor can save my life they can dress in whatever outfit they want to.
What do you think about doctors with tattoos?
It’s like trusting a “doctor” who’s also a youtuber
@tekkon he is actually a doctor, stop being the typical hater
„I was hiding my glass of wine“ Yeah. Wodka is better, anywayz. :)
The time on this video is 9:11
I totally agree with u in this topic doc, definately everyone has a personal life as well as proffesional one. We should only pay attention on the service they r giving to us, the society, not their personal thing what r they doing, having and wearing. This is really awakard. Even my dad is also a doctor and i see him serving so hardly to help his patient.
Anything that isn’t illegal done outside of the workplace , should be irrelevant to your employer.
I am more scared to have a robot doing my surgery then a doctor who has his fun like me.
It means everyone in India is unprofessional
Wasn't really a "study" Was more... "research..."
Yes u can't even color ur hair. Bcoz doctor with red green blue color unprofessional. There is Long list of unprofessional work. I guess doctor being human should b declare as unprofessional.
Wait wait wait... drinking and having an opinion is potentially unprofessional? I guess that's every Irish or Italians or German doctor are all unprofessional
Well I assume they'd wear scrubs at the apporate times so what do I care? Thinking about it further I guess I probably wouldn't trust an unhealthy doctor so I guess fit doctors are kinda just proof they're not hypocritical and they practice what they preach
Trust should be on their treatment not what they wear ...
After almost 60 years on this earth, I've only had ONE doctor ever listen and treat me like a person, and not a hysterical woman that just needs to shove a tampon in my mouth and be quiet. I wish I could be one of your patients, or at the very least, find another doctor that would actually listen...... I mean, it's not like I'm actually inside my own body and know what's going on; and couple that with a Biochemistry degree, I think I have an idea of when something isn't right. My most recent was when a teenager was driving his mom's van and ran over me as a pedestrian because he wasn't looking, and the arriving EMTs told me I was over-reacting and that they weren't going to take me to the Hospital (my arm was entirely swollen and black by this point).
Bruh docs are people too. They can wear normal swimsuit too...
Anyone looking at his 1 grey hair?
They humans too.. people gomn 😂
What is a cancer check?
I think some would like available doctors in swimming suits in beaches, to keep the positivity and adding new experiences If that makes any sense........
One of my specialist has told me stories of their patients with names, one they knew we knew each other, regardless we didn't fully discuss our endometreosis surgeries, the other had a procedure I was recommended (pain modulator implant) but declined due to various reasons. They also told me about ongoing litigation about other specialists in their field. I'm now thinking I should report them.
Well yeah but this is their personal life. Just like anybody else. What? a doctor cant go to the beach just because they attractive?
Personally I dont care what a doctor, male or female, wears in their off time. Who cares if they're in a bathing suit or having an alcoholic drink? They're on their own time, they're adults, they can do as they please.
Uh oh.
Hmmm yes he had a martini he is unfit to be doctor
They think highly educated proffesionals shouldnt talk about controversial topics.. but are completely fine with the dumbest humans imaginable doing it. Lol.
Dr. Candice is an MLMer sage!
The hard duck logically license because viola fortunately consider pro a light currency. jaded, substantial name
I want my doctor to be a girl. N were bikini when goin to work
freedom
That one little hair that was sticking out annoyed me the entire video lol
My what if they talked bad about their co-worker in person to another person and co-worker deserved it?
men doctors should be happy , wink wink bikini another wink wink . but focus could be a slight issue
There nothing wrong with doctors showing themselves on social media and in fact there should be more cause we all human and there’s nothing wrong with putting yourself out there like the lady on the thumbnail who is as thick as a bowl of grits😍😍😘🍑
Sorry but it can't be unprofessional in your not in the work place. Like ya wearing a bikini in a hospital, unprofessional. Wearing a bikini at the BEACH perfectly fine.
Why are religous comments bad?
The various camel strikingly fry because station outstandingly walk across a stormy knee. heavenly heavy hellish, good club
... are they supposed to go swimming in lab coats, or what...?
Dr. Mike wasn't wearing a lab coat/scrubs when he saved someone's life on an airplane so I quite frankly cannot support this unprofessional behavior anymore 😞
So they can’t use profanity they are not allowed to talk about common social topics and they can’t drink a martini on the beach in a bikini on vacation because it’s obviously inappropriate work behavior lol
Research tips I learned as a psych major (I'm not into research but I find it important with everything): - Refrain from being bias. It may lead to bad or inaccurate information and you being close minded to other possibilities. - Correlation does not lead to causation. Nough said.
This video aged rather poorly lol
When they treats me, may be not. When they swimming? Absolutely. Actually I woudn't let a doctor who wears coats while swimming to treat me.
You already know the people who made this are a bunch of liberal creeps
Doctors are supposed to KNOW biology, not HAVE biology!
Hey, ( please like and reply so he can see ) when i was about 9 i got a concussion and the doctors made sure i was ok and could see again, then said i should go to a hospital farther away early in the morning, to get some kind of inspection. I wasnt sure what that was, but i never went and i am very curious if i should have / if theres something that should have been fixed / or if its fine thanks! edit : found out i was supposed to get a MRI scan but never did
I love this guy because he’s so objective. He really looks at a given situation with a fair and unbiased lens.
Hey, doc, how does one become as amazing and wholesome as you?
Oh nooooo I like to wear a bikini when I go to the beach, I like to legally consume alcohol in my free time, I like to be a living, breathing human being. Oh noooooo.
Doctors can't have sex. They're not humans. They're programmed to only save lives, strip patients to diagnose and then plug in themselves with a charger to recharge.
My gynecologist Dr. Marisa Dahlman nearly lost her job after writing a scathing post on Facebook about what was happening in the discussion of abortion a couple years ago. Mentioning how her patient who needed to have an ectopic pregnancy surgically removed called her sobbing asking her why she didn't give her the option of reimplanting the fetus into her uterus like the politicians were saying was possible. I'm glad she didn't, but if she did, I would have raised hell for her.
It's like kids finding teachers social accounts. They need to grow up.
So anyone who drinks is not allowed to be or gat drunk
It’s 2020 Dr Mike, let’s just forget the drinks 🍷 part of this vid & remember that the liquor stores are essential for essentials. I mean hell parents are teachers now and it’s 5 o’clock somewhere right?! 😂🤦🏻♀️
'uncensored profanity' outside of work didn't belong on the 'clearly unprofessional' list, either. The rest of that list were directly relevant to the profession.
Professional doctors wear pijamas on the beach
